What BAJ does

BAJ provides car adverts and a way to contact sellers. Basic listings and buying are free. BAJ is not the seller of advertised cars, does not inspect vehicles or verify their history, and does not handle vehicle payments. Buyer and seller arrange inspection, price, payment and collection directly.

There is no vehicle checkout, escrow service or payment protection on BAJ. An enquiry does not reserve a car or create a sale.

Listing a car

Only list a vehicle you own or are authorised to advertise. Use an accurate price, current photos you have permission to publish, and a clear description of known damage, faults, running condition and collection requirements. Do not disguise a trade sale as a private sale. Keep availability and status up to date.

Cat A and Cat B vehicles cannot be listed. Do not post stolen vehicles, misleading adverts, unrelated promotions, or private documents and contact information in public descriptions. Use the dedicated contact fields.

By uploading text and photos, you allow BAJ to display them to operate your advert. You keep your rights to your content. BAJ will not reuse a seller’s photos in promotional videos without their permission.

Buying a car

Check the car, documents and seller’s authority before agreeing a sale or making payment. A price or condition shown on an advert is supplied by its seller. A trade-access approval is not a guarantee of a vehicle or seller.

Your legal rights depend on the sale and seller. A trader cannot avoid consumer obligations by describing a car as a private sale or simply writing “sold as seen”. Nothing on this page takes away rights provided by law.

Pending insurance buy-backs

A pending advert is an expression-of-interest opportunity. The owner has not completed retention, and availability depends on the insurer’s agreement. No deposit or vehicle payment should be requested through a pending advert. A BAJ enquiry review does not approve payment or confirm ownership.

The seller must complete retention and establish authority to sell before a sale can proceed. BAJ does not fund buy-backs, arrange insurer payment links or promise a profit.

Problems and account information

Use the report control on a car page or email BAJ about a suspicious advert. BAJ may withdraw adverts or restrict access when there is a credible concern about fraud, misleading content or misuse. Contact us if you believe a restriction is a mistake. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity under your sign-in. BAJ may suspend sign-ins used for fraud or abuse.

Listings can be withdrawn in My listings. Read the privacy information for account data, visibility and deletion requests. Any future paid services will have their price and terms shown before purchase.
